Me and John Verity produced Mikes a single "Its Over" . We didn't write the song so we made him do one of ours on the B side. The song we gave him "Brothers And Sisters" was pretty crap really and I can't remember why we didn't give him something decent but hey, that's showbiz!

Mike Pender is probably one of the greatest voices in rock and roll. I especially liked Mike's work on the Sire Sessions, although songs such as Needles And Pins and Take Me For What I'm Worth are priceless.

Could someone please let Mike Pender know that Margaret Brown of Kenilworth died from cancer last weekend (15th/16th December). Margaret (or Mags as she liked to be known)ran Mike's fan club for many years until her mother became very ill and she had to reluctantly give it up (Mike was very sympathetic aand understanding). I'm sure Mike would like to be told this sad news. Harry Hogg Dunfermline

Dear Mike as an avid fan of the Searchers, I am wondering when you and your band will tour Australia, especially Brisbane.Do you intend to perform at the Kedron Wavell Services Club at any time soon. yours truly Karlotta.

Saw Mike perform at Butlins (Skegness) on 13 April 2008 with Tony Crane, Brian Poole, Dave Berry and Dave Dee. They were 'Reelin and a Rockin'. Superb performance (as ever). Met the guys afterwards, real gents. C.D 'Reelinandarockin' volume 2, The Greatest Sixties Show Ever. A real gem, loads of nostalgia.

I saw Mike fender appear in the Oh Boy 60s show at the Carnegie Hall theatre in Dunfermline last wed 24 May. He was very good and looked youthful. he was backed by Vanity Fare and managed to re-create the searchers sound brilliantly. Mikes chat was also entertaining between songs. What a gteat character and surviver. what nostalgia to. I am still humming the songs a week later back in Plymouth!

I was at the Imagine concert at the Echo Arena last thursday and I think MP was performing but not sure. If he was, which Beatles number did he perform? Ricky Tomlinson's announcements were sometimes a bit distorted when the name was shouted into the mic. (RT was fantastic tho') First saw Mike Pender with the Searchers at the Floral Hall, Southport in the '60s. Great voice and charismatic figure. Hope he'll come more to the fore again.
